Here's tutorial how to create gold text in minutes using Photoshop. I believe this is the fastest and easiest way to create gold text with a nice gold effect result. You can apply this technique into any text you want. Hope you like and enjoy this tutorial.

1. Create text in Photoshop. Don't use thin font. For example I use Impact font with size 292pt and grey color. Actually, you can use any color you want.

2.Next, add 3D depth to your text. In Layers panel, double click text layer to open Layer Style window. Activate Bevel and Emboss. In Structure, use Techniques=Chisel Hard, and Size=59. In Shading, click small graph in Gloss Contour. In opened small window, move point in graph until you get graph like in image below.

3. Activate Contour. Also change graph in Contour. Activate Anti-aliased and Range=100. To create sharp corner in graph, just select one point and check Corner in bottom of graph.

4. Image below shows how Bevel and Emboss affecting your text.

5. Next, you need to change text color into yellow gold. Activate Color Overlay. Change color box into R=255, G=198, B=0. Use Opacity=100%.

6. Next, add a little bit of extra 3D looks using shadows. Activate Drop Shadow. Use Opacity=50, and Spread=3

6. Image below shows the final result. I also try to change the font to see how the gold effect looks like. Nice, isn't it?
