After all this time creating 3dsmax tutorials, now let's take a break. This time you will use Adobe Photoshop. You will create Batman The Dark Knight (2008) title, like you've seen in image below. This Batman movie, starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, is one of my favourite movie this year. Christopher Nolan (director) is absolutely did a great job. Back to tutorial :). In this first tutorial part, you will create background for title. It's a kind of shiny burst light effect. Let's begin!

1. Start by creating 750x400 pixel new canvas (File>New). Make sure Foreground color is Black and Background color is white (you can set by pressing D in keyboard). Fill with black color using Paint Bucket tool (or Alt+Backspace).

2.Using Gradient tool, hold Shift, click and drag from bottom to top. You will get black and white gradient color.

3. Next, from Top menu choose Filter>Distort>Wave. Use values like image below.

4. Now, apply Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates. You will get shiny radial burst light effect.

5. Next, you need to add color to light effect. From top menu, Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation. Activate Colorize and use Hue=200 and Saturation=55.

6. Your light burst effect should now looks like image below.
