This tutorial needs you to understand basic use of 3dsmax.
In this fourth part of Modeling Apache tutorial, you will create boxes attached to the body. Actually you can create these boxes separately from helicopter object. In this tutorial, you'll learn to create the boxes as a continuous polygons in the 3D object.
26. In right viewport, select all edges between body and tail area (look at small image below). Use Connect to create one vertical edge. Then, move vertices to match blueprint image.

27. Zoom in area shown in small image below. Select two vertices in there, and in Edit Vertices rollout click Settings right of Weld button. Use large Weld Threshold amount, click OK. Now, selected vertices will be welded as one vertex only.

28. Change selection to Polygon. In one side, select 2 polygons like image below. Give small value of extrusion. Then, change to Vertex selection and move outermost upper vertices down a little bit.

29. Change to Polygon selection again. Give more extrusion. Use blueprint in Top or Front viewport as reference.

30. Now, we're going to adjust extruded part to a box. Select polygon at upper part of newly extruded polygons. In Edit Polygons rollout, click Hinge From Edge Button. In Perspective viewport, click at edge marked by white arrow in small image below and drag. Make sure to drag until you get an box shape. Then, move vertices if necessary to adjust the shape of the box

31. Next step, select edges like image below. Give slight Chamfer.

32. And now, the back of the box. Using Connect to create vertical edges like left image below. Change selection to Vertex. In Edit Vertices rollout, click Target Weld button. To weld vertices, in viewport click vertex number 1 then number 2. Repeat the process with vertex number 3 to 4.

33. Still in Vertex selection, select three vertices (in white circle) and move it to the front to create box shape like image below..

34. Now, go to the front of the box. Use Polygon selection. Select polygon in the front of the box. Use bevel first, Inset and then finalize with Bevel again.

35. In Front viewport, zoom in the box area. Select vertices in on corner and use Weld to combine them. Do that again in other corner. Activate Polygon selection. Select polygon in tht middle. Using Select And Non-Uniform Scale, make the polygon like a small square (right image below).

36. Extrude the polygon. Activate Edge selection. Select all 4 edges like right image below. Using Connect create 3 segments.

37. Finally, using Select And Uniform Scale Tool, scale all vertices in each segments until you get something like image below.
